Long COVID is now recognised as a highly complex, multi-system condition affecting a significant number of individuals following initial infection. For many, recovery is not linear. Symptoms can persist for months or years, often without clear answers, consistent support, or effective treatment pathways.
Navigating recovery exposed firsthand, Dr Tam saw the limitations of conventional approaches, the lack of cohesive treatment pathways and the need for a more integrated, personalised model of care.
This experience now directly informs how she approaches complex, post-viral conditions – as a process of understanding, regulation and gradual restoration.
When the system is dysregulated, progress doesn’t hold. One of the most overlooked aspects of Long COVID is the role of the nervous system.
When the body remains in a dysregulated state, energy production is compromised, recovery becomes inconsistent and symptoms fluctuate without clear cause.
Without addressing underlying regulation, optimisation alone is not enough.
While Long COVID can feel uncertain and, at times, overwhelming…there is a path forward. With the right understanding, support and sequencing, many individuals are able to stabilise symptoms, rebuild resilience and return to a more consistent state of health.
