Prostaphane® Sulforaphane

£89.95

Prostaphane® is a food supplement based on Sulfodyne®, an extract of broccoli seeds standardized in sulforaphane in its free and stabilized form.

What is it?

Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring compound found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and kale. It is a sulfur-rich compound produced when the enzyme myrosinase converts glucoraphanin into sulforaphane upon chewing or chopping the vegetables.

Whilst all other supplements on the market are only a combination of the precursors of sulforaphane (myrosinase and glucoraphanin) and do not contain actual sulforaphane, Prostaphane® is the only stabilised, free-form sulforaphane supplement available on the market.

How does it work?

Sulforaphane activates the Nrf2 pathway, a defence mechanism against oxidative stress, by modifying a protein that typically binds and degrades Nrf2. This releases Nrf2, enabling it to bind to antioxidant response elements and switch on over 200 protective genes, including those that produce glutathione, a major antioxidant and detoxifier.

Recommended use:

Take 1-3 capsules per day. This is equal to 10-30 mg of free-form sulforaphane. As it is a powerful detoxifying compound it is advised to build up your dosage slowly over a period of weeks.

For general use, we would not advise taking more than 3 capsules daily. If you require a higher dosage for a specific condition, please consult your doctor before taking more than 3 capsules.

Prostaphane is best taken with a meal to minimise the chance of side effects.

Storage & stability:

The ideal place to store Prostaphane is in the refrigerator, but it can be kept at room temperature for short periods. When stored at room temperature, the sulforaphane content may slightly decrease to less than 2% or 0.2mg over one month. Refrigeration ensures maximum potency is retained. As a result, there is no need to be concerned if you plan to travel with it.

*Suitable for vegans and free from common allergens.
